The legendary hardcore festival 'Nightmare Outdoor' moved its borders on May 16, 2009. For the first time the festival left its Rotterdam roots to establish a new nightmare in the eastern parts of Holland. Going under the guise of "Nightmare Outdoor - The last daylight" this 2009 edition was a thrillin' opening of the summer festival season! Despite the tricky weather forecasts and the fact that this was the first time the party would proceed during daylight, around 10.000 hardcore die-hards found their way to the spectacular festival grounds. UDC & Mid-Town Records served up 6 areas with a combined total of 75 DJ's and live acts who took this festival ands its visitors into hardcore heaven.
From kickin' mainstream hardcore via brutal terror and industrial over to the good old early rave and happy hardcore, all aspects of this powerful scene were represented by leading artists such as Amnesys, Paul Elstak, DJ Panic, Mad Dog, D-Passion, Marc Acardipane, Tha Playah, Peaky Pounder, Scott Brown, Enzyme X, Na-Goyah, The Stunned Guys, Ophidian, Forze DJ Team, Akira, Mindustries and loads... and loads more! The combination of the outstanding music, the surprisingly good weather, the extreme phat location plus eye-catching decoration and off course the ear blowing sound systems made this 2009 edition a classic one.
And now the long awaited Live Registration DVD is being released. This DVD gives you the chance to relive the event once again or get a glimpse of what you missed. All above listed elements and the many artists the festival had can be found on this disc, together with the loaded photogallery, amusing interviews and the trailer.
Phase Two: Slowboat to Hades is a compilation DVD by Gorillaz, released in October 2006. The DVD is similar to the band's first DVD, Phase One: Celebrity Take Down, but compiles the videos and animatics related to the release of the band's second album, Demon Days, as well as the related singles.
The DVD includes most of the materials released by Gorillaz from 2004 to 2006, which includes the full videos for "Rock It", "Feel Good Inc.", "DARE", "Dirty Harry" and "El Mañana". It includes the MTV EMAs, Grammys and Brits live performances. Also included is the Gorillaz MTV Cribs episode, the Phase Two Gorilla bites, a new Kong Studio guide, a gallery, and short interviews. Plus, it features a few hidden extras found in certain rooms. The DVD is bundled with a CD-ROM featuring games and wallpapers. Strangely, on the DVD, kong studios appears to be in a bad state, with holes in walls, floors, and blood splatterings, along with litter. Unlike the previous Phase One: Celebrity Take Down there is a floor directory, due to the fact there are more items on this DVD. In Rise of the Ogre, the aftermath states that now Noodle has left (although she is thought to be coming back during 2009), the spiritual peace and happiness left with her, causing the building to begin finally giving in to the dark forces which have been plaguing it, due to Murdoc stating he was bigger than Satan, (Which is a parody of what the Beatles reportedly said during their fame.) During Phase One: Celebrity Take Down, even though while he was building the band he did a deal with him. Murdoc says in the book they are pursuing an alternative studio. The DVD also includes the event of Murdoc's rebirth which happened 6/6/06 on the Gorillaz official website[1] as a hidden feature. The phase two kong studios contains less animated backgrounds, this time being completely computerized. The website took on this new view when it was reopened, though it was less damaged.
Incredible edition of jeff mills specially commissioned re-scored soundtrack for the restored reissue of buster keaton's masterpiece of silent comedy cinema, including a DVD featuring the restored film in its entirety (including Mills new soundtrack), an extended interview with Mills about the recording process, a making of feature and 6 exclusive video remixes. This incredible soundtrack ranges from melodic, layered techno arrangements to subtle and minimal ballad-like pieces that appropriately treat each of the films ages (stone, roman , and present). simply composed, it guides the viewer in and out of each era, climaxing in an eruptive chase scene. Amazing package not to be missed!
Individual video directors were specifically invited to add their creativity to a song, visually interpreting the track in their own unique way. There was no brief, no pitching against other directors, it was to be their creativity under the spotlight and just one constant - they all had to work to the same budget and if possible Coldcut were not to feature in the work.
It's all about taking the director out of the realm of painter for hire and giving them the creative recognition they so hugely deserve. This is not only in the creative brief but in how they are presented on the DVD and how their fee is an advance against royalites - the same as if they were a guest musician – it's an exciting and bold move.
