My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult - The Kult Kollection

My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult - The Kult Kollection

This collection includes all the band's visual work together for the first time. The DVD is a mind-blowing mixture of live footage, rare music videos, and a bonus trailer containing some of the band's rarely seen original film ideas. Included are 10 music videos, 9 songs filmed live in concert, and a lengthy trailer containing footage from the still unreleased Thrill Kill Kult movie!

Named after an original film project that never made it off the ground, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult have nonetheless spent the duration of their musical career scoring one long B-movie sexploitation extravaganza. Their sex- and violence-filled songs are tinged with camp and have a beat you can dance to. The formula has served them well, as the Chicago group has become one of the premier underground industrial acts. They have contributed to the soundtracks of such films as SHOWGIRLS (Paul Verhoeven) and NOWHERE (Gregg Araki). Known for their elaborate, highly eccentric live shows, the group's theatrical acumen is in evidence on this collection of their work. Comprised of 10 music videos and nine songs filmed in concert, it also includes footage from the movie project that started it all. Videos to some of the band's biggest hits, such as "Kooler Than Jesus," "Sex On Wheelz," and "Glamour Is A Rocky Road," are presented, along with live performances of "Hit & Run Holiday," "Chemical Cop Out," and "Hot Blood Risin'," among many others.

I would love to see this re-upped. I was in my early 20's at the end of the 80's and MLWTTKK were producing some of the most exciting dance music around, to go with PTV's venturing into ACID House and the techno and house sounds reaching the UK's (and European) shores which became twisted into hardcore rave and eventually Jungle & drum and bass via the sample heavy experiments of the Jamms (KLF) and the mellower ambient vibes of the orb etc etc
I don't ever remember seeing any Thrill Kill Kult visuals and would love to see this dvd, the recent 2xcd "Sinister Whisperz (the Wax Trax Years 1987-1991)" having further wetted my appetite.
