Daft Punk's Electroma is the eagerly anticipated directorial Feature Film debut from Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, better known together as Daft Punk. Featuring a stunning soundtrack with music from Todd Rundgren, Brian Eno, Curtis Mayfair, Sebastien Tellier and Chopin, Electroma plays out beautifully 'like music for the eyes'.Reupped the whole thing, Enjoy:)

Documentary following a generation of post-punk musicians who took the synthesiser from the experimental fringes to the centre of the pop stage.
In the late 1970s, small pockets of electronic artists including the Human League, Daniel Miller and Cabaret Volatire were inspired by Kraftwerk and JG Ballard and dreamt of the sound of the future against the backdrop of bleak, high-rise Britain.
The crossover moment came in 1979 when Gary Numan's appearance on Top of the Pops with Tubeway Army's Are Friends Electric heralded the arrival of synthpop. Four lads from Basildon known as Depeche Mode would come to own the new sound whilst post-punk bands like Ultravox, Soft Cell, OMD and Yazoo took the synth out of the pages of the NME and onto the front page of Smash Hits.
By 1983, acts like Pet Shop Boys and New Order were showing that the future of electronic music would lie in dance music.
Contributors include Philip Oakey, Vince Clarke, Martin Gore, Bernard Sumner, Gary Numan and Neil Tennant. For you educational purposes, enjoy:)

We Built This City – A Documentary On Electronic Music Made In Cologne

Cologne is internationally recognized as a centre for electronic music. The musicians, DJs and labels active in Cologne during the 90's unintentionally created a trademark, the "Sound of Cologne", that is known in clubs and on dancefloors around the globe. This DVD asks how Cologne got where it is today and takes a look at the future of electronic music. "It's all about the low key disco culture that we actually live on", says JUSTUS KÖHNCKE, former member of Whirlpool Productions and, as a solo artist, the pride of Cologne-based label KOMPAKT. The interviews, music clips and exclusive live material on this DVD provide a portrait of those people who, artistically and strategically, ensure that Cologne is and remains a fixed point for creative musicians from all over the world. Labels such as A-MUSIK, KOMPAKT, TRAUM, WARE and SONIG are constantly discovering new talent. Established acts such as MOUSE ON MARR or WOLFGANG VOIGT continue to be productive and to prepare the ground for successful newcomers such as ADA or DOMINIK EULBERG. The POPKOMM, once the biggest music fair in the world, left the city to try its fortune, or misfortune, elsewhere. Cologne reacted with typical stubbornness and created alternatives. The C/O POP festival, for example, which got off to a more than successful start, and the local labels which are flourishing despite all market prognoses to the contrary. The DJ and SPEX editor Tobias Thomas sums everything up: The SOUND OF COLOGNE is a feeling.Features: (interviews etc.)01. Moog - The Documentary (2004)

The Moog synthesizer was one of the first widely used electronic musical instruments. The first Moog instruments were modular synthesizers. In 1971 Moog Music began production of the Minimoog Model D which was among the first widely available, portable and relatively affordable synthesizers.
Born in 1934, Robert Moog grew up in New York City, where he developed a passion for playing the piano around the same time he started tinkering with electronic equipment, an interest he picked up from his father. In 1949, Moog had learned how to build and play theremins, one of the world's first electronic musical instruments.
When he pressed a key Dr Bob Moog could feel the electrons dancing in their circuits. A portrait of the man and his machine – the first synthesiser smaller than a house – with Bernie Worrell, Rick Wakeman, Luke Vibert and Stereolab giving praise. Less than brilliant, but very touching and further proof that the pioneers of electronic music were all a few Hertz short of a waveform.
