On Friday, a single e-mail blips through the Internet. The word spreads quickly through the city: the party is on. Saturday evening, two hundred people secretly converge at an abandoned San Francisco warehouse. As the sun sets the records start spinning, setting into motion a night that no one will forget. Meet David Turner, a Midwest transplant. He moved to the city with aspirations of starting his career as a writer but his hopes have stalled. After four years he finds himself writing instruction manuals for a computer company. Overworked and with little social life, David spends his time alone, his dream of being a novelist a distant memory. That night, his brother Colin Turner invites him to GROOVE. Colin has a surprise for his new girlfriend, young raver sprite Harmony Stitts, and he wants David there. David reluctantly agrees and is shocked when Colin proposes to Harmony at the party. In the ensuing celebration, they take Ecstasy and suddenly, David is thrust into the world of the San Francisco underground. In a chance encounter, David meets longtime New York raver Leyla Heydel and makes an unlikely connection. Through their budding relationship, they're reminded of a sense of possibility and freedom in their lives they had all but forgotten. But as the party rages on, Colin reveals a deep secret, one that threatens to destroy his relationship with Harmony. When the sun rises the party disappears, and the chaos of the last twelve hours changes the two brothers forever. Underworld - Everything Everything Live

Yes, electronica has taken over the world of music. All you need to do is take a look at the first shot of Underworld's live concert video to see that. The sprawling, dancing masses that cover the fields testify that the medium has found its way out of dark, sweaty raves and into the global mainstream. The shot makes the crowds at Woodstock seem small. However, while seeing electronica live can be a thrilling experience, watching it performed at home on your television is a completely different story. The British trio Underworld is widely considered to be one of electronica's most popular acts (same class as the Chemical Brothers and the Orb), and this DVD presents nine of their hyper, 10-minute-plus jams in five different countries (Japan, Holland, Belgium, England, and Ireland). While the sound is crisp and the beats infectious, there's not much to watching an electronica band (you usually have your eyes closed at a show, frantically dancing). The band tries to rectify this problem by using Alan Parker-esque, headache-inducing editing techniques and more strobe-lighting effects than the human brain can possibly handle in one sitting. Also, to make up for the lack of dynamics, Underworld has packed this DVD with a ton of goodies. You can program the concert any way you'd like to hear it; it contains five minutes of outtakes and a couple bonus tracks; and, most quizzically, they included the full 90-minute visuals shown on the large video screen behind the band. Some hardcore fans may find the screen graphics mesmerizing, but mostly it feels like watching a screensaver with a soundtrack. If you can't wait for Underworld to come to a field near you, grab the DVD; otherwise, just go to a rave. It's cheaper. TrackList:1. Juanita/Kiteless 2. Cups 3. Push Upstairs 4. Pearl's Girl 5. Jumbo 6. Shudder/King of Snake 7. Born Slippy - Underworld, Emerson, Darren 8. Rez/Cowgirl - Underworld, Smtih, Rick 9. Moaner Enjoy!

In a moment of madness the press blabber attached to this weighty triple-disc tome proclaims that Output Recordings (and I'm paraphrasing here) 'casually invented the future', but you'd have to concede that the labels' decade at the top of the punk-funk tree has been a fruitful one, hooking up with DFA for Rapture and LCD Soundsystem releases whilst nurturing home-grown talent like Four Tet (and his Fridge) as well as the far flung silliness of Mu and Rammstein... sorry, Blackstrobe. The tracklist spread across the two CDs paints a pretty comprehensive portrait of the label's various facets, but then you get the DVD, which itself makes for a fairly desirable piece of merchandise, featuring a whopping 37 video shorts as accompaniment to a cornucopia of Output recording artists' key works. They'll be missed... Really nice and rare DVD with some cool stuff on it. Four Tet, Playgroup, Blackstrobe, do i have to say more?enjoy:)
Label: Blast First Petite Catalog#: PTYT 009 Format: DVD, DVD-Video Country: UK Released: 2008 Genre: Electronic Style: Abstract, Minimal, Experimental The first ever Pansonic DVD release by Edward Quist, American digital visual artist. A live performance, close filmed. A redux digital film based around a Pansonic performance from their New York stop of their adventerous 1999 Round The World Tour. The film is a hyper-real abstract reflection of the duo, in the final year of the last century. Whilst the documentary core remains, the footage is twisted and shaped by Quist into a new form in conjunction with Pansonic's improvised set.
