My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult - The Kult Kollection
This collection includes all the band's visual work together for the first time. The DVD is a mind-blowing mixture of live footage, rare music videos, and a bonus trailer containing some of the band's rarely seen original film ideas. Included are 10 music videos, 9 songs filmed live in concert, and a lengthy trailer containing footage from the still unreleased Thrill Kill Kult movie!
Named after an original film project that never made it off the ground, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult have nonetheless spent the duration of their musical career scoring one long B-movie sexploitation extravaganza. Their sex- and violence-filled songs are tinged with camp and have a beat you can dance to. The formula has served them well, as the Chicago group has become one of the premier underground industrial acts. They have contributed to the soundtracks of such films as SHOWGIRLS (Paul Verhoeven) and NOWHERE (Gregg Araki). Known for their elaborate, highly eccentric live shows, the group's theatrical acumen is in evidence on this collection of their work. Comprised of 10 music videos and nine songs filmed in concert, it also includes footage from the movie project that started it all. Videos to some of the band's biggest hits, such as "Kooler Than Jesus," "Sex On Wheelz," and "Glamour Is A Rocky Road," are presented, along with live performances of "Hit & Run Holiday," "Chemical Cop Out," and "Hot Blood Risin'," among many others.

Quiet City is the fourth album from Mark Nelson's Pan American project and combines the computer-centric approach of The River Made No Sound with the organic instrumentation that marked Nelson's work in Labradford and the first two Pan American albums. Three of the eight tracks were recorded with Charles Kim (Sinister Luck Ensemble) and feature upright bass, drums, trumpet and flugelhorn. Nelson even sings a bit. The rippling electronics and muffled beats of the first three Pan American albums are still there; distended into elegiac, resonant, wavering, and ambient song craft. The CD edition of Quiet City comes with a DVD that contains a video essay shot and edited by Mark Nelson and Chicago visual artist Annie Feldmeier.
