That includes the classic school sports day video for Witness (1 Hope) an idea dreamed up by Rodney Smith himself. Future.Loop.Foundation.Memories.From.A.Fading.Room.2007.COMPLETE.PAL.MDVDR-H0TWhen it comes to packing emotion into electronic music it s easy to press the angry button or get horny horny horny horny. Nothing wrong with that as the punky-electro identI-hordes will breathe heavily into your ear. But not so many albums try and explore something deeper and more personal then come up with something that can only be described as beautiful. Future Loop Foundation is Mark Barrott and he s done just that by looking back to his childhood and constructing a series of poignant, haunting electronic reflections inspired by recordings of his family in the 70s. The memories have inspired a lovely soundscape which manages to be dreamy and melodic without slipping into soppiness. It also accompanies a 50 minute DVD film of Super8 footage of Mark s childhood. In some hands this could be cringe-inducing. Barrott exercises his trademark deftness and experience gained from his previous four albums to deliver a stunning piece of work which could actually make you well up if you have any warm feelings towards your own growing up. There s also an EP which sees tracks sensitively reworked by Rob Da Bank and Chris Coco, Hiem and Beauty School. --Kris Needs - Update 5 StarsTracklist01. Stereo '72 02. On The Village Radar 03. Berlin native and world-renowned techno DJ/artist Ellen Allien presents the next installment of "The Other Side". Produced in conjunction with Time Out magazine, this release features a newly enhanced DVD guide to Berlin with over two hours of information on her favorite restaurants, bars, clubs, hotels, and shops. Ellen's mix kicks off with Bowie singing his classic "Heroes" in German and draws on many facets of modern techno from the minimal to uplifting moments to eclectic quirky fun. Includes tracks from Plastikman, Miss Kitten, Booka Shade, Rhythm & Sound, Wayne County & The Electric Chairs, and more. This CD reflects the variety and experimental spirit of Ellen's native city.
The music of Berlin-based techno DJ Ellen Allien is inextricably linked to her German hometown, as reflected in such records as STADTKIND (CITY KID) and, more explicitly, BERLINETTE. Allien crafts a love letter to her beloved city in THE OTHER SIDE, which presents tourguide-style footage of her favorite Berlin nightclubs, bars, shops, and restaurants set to a sampler of German electronic music, drawing on everything from house to new-wave to glitchtronica to Morr Music-like melodicism via tracks from Plastikman, Miss Kitten, Booka Shade, Rhythm & Sound, and Wayne County & the Electric Chairs.Ellen.Allien.The.Other.Side.Berlin.2007.DVD9.NTSC.MDVDR-H0TRequested, Enjoy!
